Job summary

Millennium Physician Group, LLC is seeking a PRN phlebotomist to draw blood, prepare specimens, and support laboratory workflows across multiple Naples, FL sites. You will verify patient records, label specimens with two identifiers, and enter data into the system while maintaining sample integrity.

Responsibilities include performing venipuncture, identifying patients, preparing properly labeled specimens, and reconciling daily sample reports.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or MA certification or phlebotomy program certificate.
• 1+ years of lab experience preferred.
• Knowledge of labeling/ID protocols and common lab tests.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and universal precautions.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary puncture for the Coumadin clinic.
• Identifies patients following protocol.
• Prepares samples with correct labeling and barcodes; inspects vials.
• Reconciles outstanding sample reports at day’s end.
• Observes safety procedures and sample prep.
• Supports day-to-day activities and guides staff.
• Clean up old orders and manage duplicates in Copia.
• Demonstrates excellent guest service to patients and staff.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Description SummaryHours & Location:

This position is PRN (per diem), working hours or shifts as needed!! No weekends or major holidays! Covering multiple site within Naples, FL The Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing and collecting blood from patients and preparing the samples for testing. Verifies the patient's records, enters data into the system, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Processes specimens and demonstrates proper handling of samples. Instructs patients on Coumadin and performs limited waived testing. Maintains sample integrity by identification and labeling (2 identifiers). Maintains work area, supplies, and cleanliness.

• Identifies patient following protocol.
• Prepares samples for processing w/correct label and bar code and inspects vials
• Reconciles outstanding sample report at day’s end.
• Observe safety procedures and sample prep.
• Support and guide in day-to-day activities.
• Clean up old orders and combine orders in Copia, know which tests are duplicates and which are necessary for measures.
• Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or M.A. certification or certificate from a phlebotomy program.
• 1+ years of experience in Lab preferred
• Understand labeling/ID protocol, and knowledge of common lab tests, sample types, and vacutainers.
• Understand Biohazard, OSHA safety regulations for medical offices, and Universal precautions.
• Knowledge of test requirements and how to search Quest/LabCorp for esoteric tests.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
