Job summary

AdventHealth in Parker, CO is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform venous, capillary, urine drug screens, swab collection, and other specimen collection duties. You will ensure quality collection, proper labeling, and timely processing in a busy hospital lab.

The role requires completion of a phlebotomy program, a CPT preferred, and prior phlebotomy experience. High school diploma or equivalent required; CV and references may be requested. Night/weekend schedule included.

Qualifications

• Completion of a phlebotomy program.
• Phlebotomy work experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs venous, capillary, urine drug screen, swab collection, or other specimen collection.
• Ensures quality collection of specimens including appropriate sample container, sample volume, collection priority, and sample identification.
• Resolves unusual test orders by following up with care giver, reference lab, pathology, or referring to lab leadership when appropriate.
• Receives specimens, assesses priority, assures appropriate specimen identification and type, and processes hospital-registered and outreach patients.
• Centrifuges, aliquots, and distributes samples to appropriate testing areas, including loading samples onto various analyzers.
