Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join our Laboratory Services team. You will perform phlebotomy, correctly identify patients, label specimens, and support specimen processing and accessioning.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months hospital phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Ability to venipuncture independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy specimen collection according to SOPs.
• Identify patients and label specimens correctly.
• Process, distribute and accession specimens.
• Document patient and specimen information accurately.
• Serve as liaison between physicians, nursing, and lab staff.
• Provide test status information and report charting details.
• Assist in department communications and receptionist duties.
• Support Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health mission.
