Job summary

OneBlood in the United States is seeking a lead phlebotomist/collection supervisor to provide direction for staff during blood drives or at branches. You will perform phlebotomy, collect blood components, and ensure accurate donor records in accordance with FDA and AABB standards.

The role includes staff guidance, equipment readiness, and collaboration with Donor Recruitment to meet collection goals. CPR certification and CDL may be required for mobile duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of related collection experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, instruction, and guidance to the collection staff during blood drives or at branches; assigns meal/break periods.
• Ensures staff follow Policies and Procedures.
• Obtains donor medical history and vitals.
• Performs phlebotomy and blood collection procedures.
• Completes shift end responsibilities and reviews donor records.
• Assists with donor recruitment and supports collection goals.
• Ensures equipment and supplies are available for drives/branches.
• Monitors deferrals and training needs.
• Maintains excellent customer service and communication with donors.
• If mobilized, drives the bloodmobile and collection vehicles.
