Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, Nevada is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to lead the blood collection team on a full-time day shift. The role requires performing venipuncture and skin puncture, overseeing specimen collection, and supporting the clinical laboratory.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• State Laboratory Assistant licensure.
• At least 3 years of experience in Phlebotomy.
• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license.

• Ventures knowledge of color top tubes and test requirements.

Job Summary: This Phlebotomy Supervisor opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule. You will perform venipuncture and skin puncture competently and expediently. Has working knowledge of test requirements, assists in clinical laboratory. Responsibilities include venipuncture, blood cultures and capillary blood samples.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Draws blood competently, consistently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as possible
• Is knowledgeable about which color top tube to use and the volume of blood needed - knows test requirements
• Assists laboratory technician, performs clerical work when needed.
• Responsible for phlebotomy staff scheduling & handling vacant shifts due to sick time or PTO.
