The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Patient Service Technician (PST) for its Outpatient Service Centers across the Greater Columbus Area. The PST will perform venipuncture and capillary collection, label and process specimens, and dispatch them to correct testing locations, while training others and handling test requisitions.

The role may include point of care testing and requires attention to patient information accuracy, quality control, and chain of custody

Formación

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification is preferred, but not required.

Responsabilidades

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture for specimen collection.
• Label and process specimens and dispatch to testing locations.
• Train others in specimen collection and processing techniques.
• Enter test requisitions and assist with patient registration and accessioning.
• Perform point of care testing where applicable and ensure quality control.
• Maintain chain of custody for pre-employment urine drug screens and gather patient information.
