Responsibilities

• Collects specimens across age groups with minimal patient impact and processes and allocates specimens and orders from all sources.
• Verifies patient and specimen identification and appropriateness of orders; prioritizes workflow and distributes specimens to lab sections.
• Operates equipment and computer systems to test requests, accession, label, and deliver specimens within established time frames.
• Performs routine maintenance and quality control and troubleshoots as needed; documents procedures.
