Responsibilities

• Obtain blood samples by venipuncture, finger stick, or heel stick for all ages.
• Use aseptic techniques and follow established procedures.
• Enter patient information into hospital systems and verify demographics/insurance.
• Organize workload in phlebotomy to ensure timely results for providers.
• Order tests in the computer and contact physicians with questions.
• File/scan scripts and insurance information and prepare reports for doctors' offices.
• Prepare samples for courier pickup and deliver to the appropriate department.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and clean work areas.
• Assist with training of new employees.
• Perform phlebotomy at assigned locations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned
