Responsibilities

• Interact with laboratory customers courteously and professionally; respond to telephone inquiries promptly.
• Obtain blood specimens by venipuncture, heelstick and fingerstick following patient identification procedures; may collect non-blood samples.
• Demonstrate dependability, reliability, and independent judgment to prioritize department needs and follow authority.
• Transport specimens to appropriate lab sections, including off-site locations, following safety procedures.
• Adhere to laboratory and hospital policies on procedures, quality control, safety, and hand hygiene.
