Job summary

Labcorp in Austin, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm with overtime and rotating Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen collection for various tests, data entry, and billing support in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years phlebotomy experience (clinical/hospital preferred), and the ability to work with diverse patient groups from pediatric to geriatric.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years phlebotomy experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
• 1+ years experience assisting patient groups from pediatric to geriatric.
• Current or prior LabCorp experience is preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification or accredited training may be substituted for work experience.
• Able to pass a color blindness test.
• Ability to work overtime and in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Exceptional customer service and strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis; maintain logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients; perform administrative tasks as needed.
• Travel to additional sites when required.
