Job summary

Austin Regional Clinic in Central Texas is seeking a Phlebotomist to obtain blood specimens from patients of all ages using venipuncture and capillary collection. You will process orders and specimens while maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with laboratory policies.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, phlebotomy class (preferred) or one year of phlebotomy experience, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalence; Phlebotomy class preferred.
• Experience: Either completion of phlebotomy class or at least one year of phlebotomy experience required.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication, interpersonal & problem solving skills; ability to work in a team; familiarity with medical terminology; strong computer and keyboarding skills, including Windows; ability to manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Collects laboratory specimens from patients of all ages, including patients with infectious diseases.
• Processes laboratory orders and specimens according to protocol.
• Adheres to organization and governmental standards, rules and regulations.
• Performs clerical duties
• Promotes professional customer service.
• Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct.
• Regular and dependable attendance.

• Works holiday shift(s) as required by Company policy.
