Job summary

Mindlance is seeking a qualified Phlebotomist in Florida to perform venipuncture, labeling and handling of specimens in a fast-paced clinical lab environment. The role requires valid phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months of venipuncture experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification valid in the employing state.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain in a clear but courteous manner the venipuncture process and other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Understand all physicians' orders.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperature and transport protocols.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and report lab results to satisfy inquiries.
