Scripps Health is seeking a diligent Phlebotomy Technician for a full-time role with benefits. The position involves floating among Scripps Clinic Lab sites such as Rancho Bernardo, Hillcrest and Eastlake, with variable start times and rotating weekends.

Ideal candidates have phlebotomy certification (CDPH) and BLS, plus strong communication and analytical skills. Excellent patient care and adherence to lab safety protocols are essential.

Qualifications

• Good critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with medical terminology and computer systems.

Responsabilités

• Respond to life critical situations such as Trauma, Stroke Codes, Code Sepsis or Code Blues.
• Perform phlebotomy through venipuncture or capillary puncture with age-appropriate techniques.
• Ensure samples are collected promptly and labeled correctly.
• Preserve sample integrity and deliver to the lab within required timeframes.
• Follow safety, HAZMAT and infection control procedures in all tasks.
