The role supports the laboratory team, with duty hours in varied 8-hour shifts including PM and night shifts. Qualifications

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician is required.
• Ability to follow safety and infection control procedures.
• Experience with lab procedures and specimen handling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to life-critical situations such as Trauma, Stroke Codes, Code Sepsis or Code Blues.
• Ensure samples are collected following time-sensitive priorities (STAT, Timed and routine).
• Observe aseptic technique and isolation procedures when indicated.
• Identify patients according to policy prior to sample collection and label samples accurately.
• Perform phlebotomy via venipuncture or capillary puncture for all age groups.
• Deliver samples to the laboratory within required timeframes and maintain sample integrity.
