Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Accredited Phlebotomy or CMA program completed.
• At least one year experience in hospital or doctor office.
• Experience with Pediatrics and waived lab testing preferred.
• National certification preferred; bilingual candidates desirable.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for collection, labeling and preparation of blood specimens.
• Maintain logs, file reports, and assemble appropriate charts with lab reports.
• Assist lab or nursing staff in patient care under supervision.
• Verify test requisitions and resolve discrepancies with nursing.
• Perform venipunctures and finger sticks; ensure specimen integrity.
• Monitor glucose levels and report results to providers.
• Enter bleeding-times results and maintain quality-control logs.
