Job description

Job Title: Patient Services Representative III - Floater

The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) is the face of our company to patients, providing quality care and service. The PSR III draws blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and maintains a safe, professional environment. This role involves direct patient contact, requiring the creation of a trusting atmosphere, clear communication, and skillful, safe blood collection. The PSR III demonstrates leadership, process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy. Assignments may vary between doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other locations based on business needs.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform daily activities accurately and timely under the supervision of the area supervisor.
  2. Maintain a safe, professional environment.
  3. Collect forensic and clinical specimens following established practices and procedures.
  4. Verify patient demographic information and labels post-venipuncture to ensure accuracy.
  5. Maintain necessary records and documentation.
  6. Promote a positive image and organizational commitment to patients, clients, and staff.
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to produce high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Adherence to all policies, including dress code, safety, and company principles.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Superior customer focus and effective communication skills.
Training & Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Experience in a Patient Service Center environment and customer service preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience is advantageous.
