Description:
- The Phlebotomist III - Floater is the face of our company to patients, representing trust and professionalism.
- Draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for lab testing following established procedures.
- Builds trust with patients by explaining procedures and drawing blood safely and accurately.
- Provides coverage at multiple locations and roles, ensuring daily activities are completed accurately and timely.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence and confidentiality.
- May be assigned to work in various settings including doctor’s offices, patient service centers, house calls, or long-term care.
- Capable of stepping in for other float staff and leading on-site personnel.
- Acts as coach, mentor, instructor, and resource for new employees and clients, providing onboarding and support.
- Handles high-complexity cases and collaborates across multiple functions including sales, lab testing, IT, billing, and logistics.
- Manages multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
- At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
