Job Description
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients, assisting them with health routines or health decisions.
- The PSR II draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for lab testing, following established procedures.
- Creates a trusting environment, explains procedures, and performs blood draws safely and accurately.
- Demonstrates leadership, process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy.
- Assignments may include doctor's offices, patient service centers, or other locations as needed.
- Performs daily activities accurately and on time under supervision.
- Maintains a safe, professional environment.
- Handles forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following protocols.
- Verifies patient demographic info and labels tubes in the patient's presence.
- Maintains records and documentation.
- Promotes a positive image and organizational commitment.
Job Requirements
- Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting.
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexible and available for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Adheres to policies, dress code, safety, and guiding principles.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations.
- Handles multiple priorities in high-volume environments.
- Superior customer focus and effective communication skills.
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
- At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Preferably two years in a Patient Service Center environment.
- Customer service experience in retail or service settings preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
