Job Description
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients, whether as part of their routine health checks or for insights into health decisions.
- The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing, following established procedures.
- Maintains direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures, and drawing blood safely and accurately.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
- Assignments may vary to a doctor's office, patient service center, or as needed, performing daily activities accurately and on time under supervision.
- Maintains a safe, professional environment, handling forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing per established practices.
- Verifies patient demographic information, including initials and signatures post-venipuncture, ensuring proper labeling and record-keeping.
- Promotes a positive image and demonstrates organizational commitment to patients, clients, and colleagues.
Job Requirements
- Ability to deliver error-free, quality work in a fast-paced environment, working independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexible and available for staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Adherence to policies, procedures, dress code, safety, and guiding principles.
- Ability to make decisions based on procedures, exercise good judgment, and have reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Strong customer focus, transparent communication, adaptability, and business knowledge.
- Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
- Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- At least two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
- Keyboard data entry experience.
