Job Title: Patient Services Representative II

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is the face of our company to patients, whether as part of their routine health visits or for important health decisions. The PSR II draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and follows established procedures. They maintain a trustworthy environment, explaining procedures clearly and drawing blood safely and accurately. The PSR II demonstrates leadership, process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy in handling patient information. Assignments may vary between doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or as needed.

Responsibilities

1. Perform daily activities accurately and on time under supervision.
2. Maintain a safe, professional environment.
3. Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following procedures.
4. Verify patient demographic info and initials, ensuring correct labeling and patient confirmation post-venipuncture.
5. Keep accurate records and documentation.
6. Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment.

Job Requirements

• Ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
• Adherence to policies, dress code, safety, and guiding principles.
• Good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
• Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with short notice.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
• Strong customer focus and effective communication skills.

Training and Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, WA.

Work Experience

• Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Preferably two years in a Patient Service Center environment.
• Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry skills required.
