Job: Phlebotomist II
Location: Goldsboro, NC

Shift/Time Zone: Monday-Thursday 8:30AM-12:30PM and Friday 8AM-12PM

Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients, drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
- Creates a trusting environment by explaining procedures clearly and drawing blood in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy. Assignments may include doctor's offices, patient service centers, or other locations as needed.
- Performs daily activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintains a safe and professional environment.
- Handles forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing with confidence, adhering to established procedures.
- Verifies patient demographic information and initials, ensuring tubes are labeled in the patient's presence and labels are correct.
- Maintains required records and documentation.
- Promotes a positive image and demonstrates organizational commitment to patients, clients, and colleagues.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, based on staffing needs.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures, including dress code, safety, and guiding principles.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Strong customer focus, open communication, adaptability, and knowledge of our business.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
- At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Preferably two years in a Patient Service Center environment.
- Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry skills.
Additional Details:
- Must have reliable transportation to the worksite (personal vehicle preferred over public transit or rideshare).
- Available to work scheduled shifts, punctual, and committed to full shifts.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may lead to termination.
