Title: Phlebotomist II

Location: Flower Mound, TX 75028

Duration: 3 Months

Hours: Mon-Fri 8-5 PM

Job Description:

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) acts as the face of our company to patients, whether for routine health checks or critical health decisions. The PSR II is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing, following established procedures. This role involves direct patient contact, requiring the creation of a trusting environment, clear communication of procedures, and safe, accurate blood collection. The PSR II demonstrates leadership, process excellence, and maintains confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. Responsibilities may vary based on assignment to a doctor's office, patient service center, or as dictated by business needs.

  • Perform daily activities accurately and punctually under the supervision of the area manager.
  • Maintain a safe, professional environment; perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices.
  • Verify patient demographic information and initials, including patient signatures post-venipuncture, ensuring proper labeling and identification.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, promoting a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:
  • Deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment; work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possess excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections; flexible to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures, including dress code, safety, and guiding principles; exercise good judgment and decision-making based on established protocols.
  • Have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Handle multiple priorities effectively in a high-volume setting.
  • Exhibit superior customer focus, open communication, adaptability to change, and knowledge of our business.
  • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Work Experience:
  • At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Preferably two years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry skills.
Additional Details:
  • Temporary FMLA coverage at a high-volume PSC; immediate training required in Flower Mound area.
