Job Title: Phlebotomist II

Location: Festus, MO

Duration: 3 Months

Shift/Time Zone: Mon-Fri 8:30 am - 5 pm

Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

Job Description:
  1. Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.
  2. PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
  3. The PSR II has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The PSR II will demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
  4. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or as business needs dictate.
  5. Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
  6. Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  7. Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
  8. Verify patient demographic information, including initials and signature post-venipuncture, to ensure tubes are labeled correctly in the patient's presence.
  9. Maintain required records and documentation.
  10. Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:
  1. Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  3. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  4. Flexibility and availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  5. Adherence to all policies and procedures, including dress code, health & safety, and guiding principles.
  6. Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
  7. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.
  8. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
  9. Capability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  10. Superior customer focus, open and transparent communication, adaptability, and knowledge of our business.
Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience:
  1. At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  2. Minimum of 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  3. Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
  4. Keyboard/data entry experience.
Additional Job Details:
  1. Reliable transportation to and from the worksite. Public transportation is not considered reliable.
  2. Availability to work scheduled shifts, punctuality, and commitment to entire shifts are mandatory.
  3. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may lead to termination.
