Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) interacts directly with patients, drawing blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing following established procedures.
- Creates a trustworthy environment by explaining procedures clearly and performing blood draws skillfully, safely, and accurately.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence and confidentiality.
- May be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or as dictated by business needs.
- Performs daily activities accurately and on time under supervision.
- Maintains a safe, professional environment and handles both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.
- Verifies patient demographic information and labels tubes correctly, maintaining accurate records.
- Promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Adheres to policies, dress code, safety, and guiding principles.
- Decisive, exercising good judgment based on established procedures.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations.
- Handles multiple priorities effectively in high-volume settings.
- Demonstrates superior customer focus and effective communication skills.
Training Locations:
May vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training preferred (medical assistant or paramedic).
- Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
- At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
