Job description

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is the face of our company to patients, whether they are visiting for routine health services or important health decisions. The PSR II is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing, following established procedures. This role involves direct patient contact, creating a trusting environment by explaining procedures and performing blood draws safely and accurately. The PSR II demonstrates leadership, process excellence, and maintains confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. Depending on business needs, the position may be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform daily activities accurately and timely under supervision.
  2. Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  3. Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following established protocols.
  4. Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  6. Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment.
Job Requirements:
  1. Ability to produce error-free work in a fast-paced setting.
  2. Work independently with minimal supervision.
  3. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  4. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  5. Adherence to all policies, including safety and dress code.
  6. Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  7. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  8. Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with short notice.
  9. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  10. Strong customer service and communication skills.
Education and Experience:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; medical training preferred.
  2. Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in certain states.
  3. At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  4. Experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  5. Customer service experience in retail or service industries preferred.
  6. Keyboard and data entry skills.
