Job description

Description/Comment: The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, whether as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The PSR I is responsible for drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing those specimens for lab testing, following established practices and procedures. The role involves direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures, and performing blood draws in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The PSR I will demonstrate leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence and maintain sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
  2. Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  3. Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties confidently, adhering to established practices and procedures.
  4. Maintain required records and documentation.
  5. Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience required; over 1 year preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience required.
