Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or post-secondary education.
• Clinical training in a phlebotomy program, OR.
• Two-year degree in a health-related field, OR two years’ experience in specimen collection/processing.
• Clinical lab training in a Northside Hospital Lab as part of education requirements.
• Hold a valid phlebotomy certification.
• Color-acuity screening test required for all applicants.

Responsibilities

• Handles lab data collection systems and equipment for orders, cancellations and charges for inpatients, outpatients, and institutional accounts.
• Performs specimen collection procedures for inpatients and outpatients.
• Performs non-technical specimen processing, preparation and distribution of specimens.
