Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence - Trans Mountain Campus in El Paso, TX is seeking a Per Diem Phlebotomist to join our clinical laboratory team. You will perform venipuncture, specimen handling, waived tests, and support microbiology processes while delivering accurate results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred phlebotomy program completion.
• Required: 1 year of laboratory experience and/or completion of formal phlebotomy training.
• Required: Phlebotomy certification where state law requires.
• Preferred: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national certification (ASCP/ANP/ASPT).

Responsibilities

• Performs routine technical and clerical functions including specimen registration and billing.
• Performs specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens.
• Performs phlebotomy duties as assigned; will perform waived testing and assist in microbiology processing and plating.
