Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or M.A. certification or certificate from a phlebotomy program.
• 2+ years of experience in Lab.
• Understand labeling/ID protocol and lab test requirements.
• Understand Biohazard, OSHA safety regulations for medical offices.
• Ability to interpret miscellaneous orders and guide new phlebotomists.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary puncture for the Coumadin clinic.
• Identifies patient following protocol and labels specimens correctly.
• Prepares samples with correct labeling and bar codes; inspects vials.
• Reconciles outstanding sample reports at day’s end.
• Maintains safe, clean work area and supports daily activities.
