Job summary

Millennium Physician Group, LLC in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist to draw blood, prepare specimens, and verify patient records. You will enter data, label samples, and ensure sample integrity for testing, while following safety protocols and patient instructions.

This role requires accuracy and teamwork in a fast-paced lab setting. Responsibilities include venipuncture, sample labeling, day-end reconciliation, and supporting daily operations.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or MA certification or certificate from a phlebotomy program.
• 2+ years of experience in Lab and knowledge of label/ID protocols.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations for medical offices.
• Ability to interpret miscellaneous orders and guide new phlebotomists.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary puncture for the Coumadin clinic.
• Identifies patient following protocol and prepares samples with correct labeling.
• Inspects vials, reconciles day-end sample reports, and observes safety procedures.
• Supports day-to-day activities and mentors new phlebotomists.
• Cleans up old orders and manages test duplication awareness in Copia.

Job description

Job Description Summary Hours & Location:

Full Time: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm 13691 Metro Pkwy, Fort Myers

The Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing and collecting blood from patients and preparing the samples for testing. Verifies the patient's records, enters data into the system, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Processes specimens and demonstrates proper handling of samples. Instructs patients on Coumadin and performs limited waived testing. Maintains sample integrity by identification and labeling (2 identifiers). Maintains work area, supplies, and cleanliness.

How will you make an impact & Requirements

Responsibilities

• Performs painless venipuncture and capillary puncture for the Coumadin clinic
• Identifies patient following protocol.
• Prepares samples for processing with correct label and bar code and inspects vials
• Reconciles outstanding sample report at day’s end.
• Observe safety procedures and sample prep.
• Support and guide in day-to-day activities.
• Clean up old orders and combine orders in Copia, know which tests are duplicates and which are necessary for measures.
• Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or M.A. certification or certificate from a phlebotomy program.
• 2+ years of experience in Lab.
• Understand labeling/ID protocol, and knowledge of common lab tests, sample types, and vacutainers.
• Understand Biohazard, OSHA safety regulations for medical offices, and Universal precautions.
• Knowledge of test requirements and how to search Quest/LabCorp for esoteric tests.
• Ability to interpret miscellaneous order
• Ability to guide and observe new phlebotomists
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Compensation Range:

$17.10 to $25.65

The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good‑faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
