Job summary

Millennium Physician Group is seeking a Phlebotomist for its Fort Myers, FL location. The role involves drawing blood, labeling and processing specimens for testing, and ensuring patient records are accurate.

You will perform venipuncture and capillary draws for the Coumadin clinic, verify patient information, and prepare samples with proper labeling and barcodes while following safety protocols. A phlebotomy or MA certification and 2+ years in a lab setting are required.

• Knowledge of labeling/ID protocol and common tests.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary puncture for Coumadin clinic.
• Identifies patient per protocol and labels samples with correct barcodes.
• Prepares samples for processing with correct labeling and inspection of vials.
• Reconciles day-end outstanding samples and sorts tests by necessity.
• Adheres to safety regulations and maintains clean work area.
• Assist and guide in day-to-day lab activities.

Job Description SummaryHours & Location:Full Time: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm13691 Metro Pkwy, Fort MyersThe Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing and collecting blood from patients and preparing the samples for testing. Verifies the patient's records, enters data into the system, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Processes specimens and demonstrates proper handling of samples. Instructs patients on Coumadin and performs limited waived testing. Maintains sample integrity by identification and labeling (2 identifiers).
