Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Lab Tech Assistant for Lourdes Hospital to assist with specimen preparation, accessioning, and phlebotomy. The role requires delivering accurate pre-analytical and analytical steps and ensuring specimen integrity through proper handling and transport.

Responsibilities include inventory management, instrument support, and basic clerical duties, with travel to off-site locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED required.
• Associate degree in Biology or Chemistry preferred.
• Laboratory experience preferred but not required.
• Keyboarding or data experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for analysis: register and accession orders.
• Verify specimen acceptability and perform pre-analytical procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens as required.
• Maintain inventory and stock, assist with waived testing and slide prep.
• Troubleshoot instruments and communicate issues to the lab team.
• Provide clerical support and handle routine tasks as needed.
