Job summary

Mercy Health’s Lourdes Hospital is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant to prepare specimens, register orders, and perform pre-analytical and analytical procedures. The role includes phlebotomy, specimen collection, and inventory maintenance to ensure proper processing.

This position requires high school completion, with associates in biology or chemistry preferred. Lab experience is advantageous, and travel to off-site locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED is required.
• Associates in Biology or Chemistry preferred.
• Laboratory experience preferred, but not required.
• Keyboarding or data experience preferred.
• Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community in a respectful manner.
• Collect blood specimens from patients and transport to the laboratory.
• Assist technologists with loading and maintaining instruments and preparing reagents.
• Identify instrument/malfunction issues and inform appropriate personnel.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
