Mass General Brigham's Nantucket Cottage Hospital seeks a Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist to draw blood from adults, children, and infants and perform clerical and specimen handling duties. The role involves specimen processing, shipping, EKGs, and maintaining LIS documentation, with on-call requirements and weekend shifts.

The position requires a High School degree, familiarity with LIS, and the ability to work effectively with physicians and staff in a fast-paced lab environment on Nantucket.

Formación

• Demonstrate adequate technical skills and judgment to function unsupervised during on-call, second shift, and weekend hours.
• Follows laboratory safety procedures and uses PPE as required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

Responsabilidades

• Collect and process specimens from adults, children, and infants according to laboratory procedures.
• Handle, ship and manage specimens; order supplies and assist with EKGs and Holter monitors as needed.
• Answer the telephone, file reports, distribute mail, and assist in tabulating monthly statistics.
