Responsibilities

• Follows all department policies, procedures and systems.
• Provides a warm welcome and excellent customer service to patients and visitors.
• Completes necessary laboratory documentation.
• Collects and processes lab specimens and evaluates their acceptability.
• Prepares samples for testing and to send out to reference laboratories.
• Utilizes continuous quality improvement to enhance processes and satisfaction.
• Participates in department-wide programs to meet objectives and training.
• Demonstrates knowledge of good laboratory practice.
• Answers phone calls and processes incoming and outgoing faxes.
• Exhibits customer focus and observes safety and compliance requirements.
