Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a skilled phlebotomy technician to join our hospital laboratory team in Columbus, GA. You will oversee phlebotomy and specimen processing, serving as the technical expert for collection and coordinating activities with lab staff to ensure safe, timely samples.

Required is a GED or high school diploma and at least 2 years of phlebotomy experience; hospital experience is preferred. Phlebotomy certification through ASCP/ASPT/NCA or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• 2 years phlebotomy experience or as a lab processor/ lab assistant required.
• Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• CPT - Phlebotomy Certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee phlebotomy and specimen processing services.
• Serve as the technical expert in phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Coordinate phlebotomy and lab assistant activities to ensure timely, safe specimen collection and processing according to established collection protocols.
