Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy procedures (blood draws) in the laboratory and in the hospital.
• Maintain blood drawing trays and keep them stocked; keeps drawing room neat.
• Record all phlebotomy drawings and orders in the computer system.
• Verify patient identity by matching name and wristband.
• Notify the medical technologist when a test is completed.
• Travel between Shannon Medical Center campuses to perform phlebotomy as needed.
• Adhere to hospital policies and safety procedures and respond to patient needs.
