ECU Health's Outer Banks Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Assistant I to perform venous and capillary blood collections, process specimens, and support the lab's operations. With supervision you may perform waived and moderately complex testing and carry out chain-of-custody collections as needed.

The role emphasizes adherence to procedures and regulatory requirements, while helping the department meet service, quality, and patient-satisfaction goals in a PRN, as-needed capacity.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of phlebotomy training course and clinical rotation recommended.

Responsibilities

• Perform venous and capillary blood collections and process specimens for analysis.
• With supervision, perform waived and moderately complex testing and may perform chain-of-custody drug collections.
• Maintain required documentation to comply with accrediting agencies.
