Cayuga Health in Ithaca, NY is seeking a phlebotomy specialist for on-site outpatient lab duties. Per diem shifts include 8-hour days from 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday and Saturdays 7am to 12pm, with occasional travel to other area locations.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus vocational phlebotomy training or 1–2 years of experience; strong attention to detail, basic Epic computer skills, and reliable teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational phlebotomy program or 2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in labeling and processing specimens.

Responsabilités

• Performs proper venipuncture and post care of phlebotomy site with correct patient labeling.
• Accurate patient registration, requisitioning, and Epic system fluency.
• Labeling, processing and preparing specimens for laboratory testing.
• Complete specimen batches timely for courier or tube-system transfer.
• Communicate outpatient needs for inventory and system reporting.
