Job summary

Cayuga Health in Ithaca, NY is seeking a Laboratory Collection - Phlebotomist I for the outpatient setting. This onsite role supports daily operations, performs venipuncture, ensures proper labeling, and maintains accurate Epic registration to ensure high-quality laboratory results for patient care.

The position is full-time with daytime hours, with rotating Saturdays and holidays as needed. The pay range is $17.79 to $24.04 per hour, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy course or 2 years phlebotomy experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and label specimens with two IDs.
• Register patients accurately in Epic.
• Prepare and process specimens for testing.
• Complete specimen batches for courier or tube system.
• Communicate outpatient needs and run system reports.
• Complete daily, weekly, monthly checklists.
• Follow policies and safety guidelines.
• Participate in quality assurance and training.
• Maintain ongoing education for outpatient lab workflows.
• Be flexible to support team needs.
