Job summary

Southcoast Health in Middletown, RI is seeking a Laboratory Assistant-Phlebotomist to support our patient-centered lab team. This role involves obtaining specimens, accurate labeling, processing, and delivering to lab departments while maintaining LIS entries.

The ideal candidate has completed a college-based phlebotomy program and ASCP BOC certification within two years of hire, is fully vaccinated, and will work day shifts with every 4th Saturday, with a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to successful completion of a college-based, nationally accredited, phlebotomy program or a Medical Laboratory Assistant program.
• ASCP BOC certification required within two years from date of hire.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or exempt by signing a statement.

Responsibilities

• Obtain specimens and volumes, label accurately, process and deliver to correct departments, and enter information in LIS. Generate reports and perform phlebotomy for inpatient and outreach locations. Maintain equipment and instrumentation.
