Job summary

Chattanooga State Community College on the Chattanooga State Campus is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach phlebotomy within the Nursing & Allied Health Division. The primary responsibility is to provide quality instruction and supervise student learning in classroom and laboratory settings.

This is a 9-month adjunct appointment. Duties include preparing lectures, labs, assessments; giving timely feedback; maintaining course syllabi and attendance; coordinating with industry partners; and

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • National certification as a Phlebotomy Technician with at least 1 year of full-time experience or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares instructional materials such as lectures, presentations, and lab sessions.
  • Uses various learning assessments to evaluate student mastery of course and program outcomes.
  • Provides feedback on student's progress, in a timely manner, to facilitate academic success.
  • Prepares and submits required documentation including course syllabi, student attendance, final course grades and other information as requested or required by the college.
  • Coordinates outreach with development and maintenance of relationships with industry-related personnel and employers.
  • Disseminates current information pertaining to services available to students throughout the college.
  • Maintains professional development/growth according to personal needs and requirements for certification.
  • Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
