Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–6 months of work experience.
• Certificate of Phlebotomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality venipuncture or capillary service for patients of all ages with lab orders by a physician, while practicing universal precautions.
• Accurate data entry of patient demographic information and assays ordered into all computer applications.
• Proper processing and handling of specimens per guidelines of MUSCP/MUSCP-PC or other reference laboratories.
• Maintain medical supplies within cost-effective parameters to perform tasks.
• Decontaminate assigned areas and document procedures.
• Attend in services/meetings and participate in committees and continuing education.
