Job summary

EGA Associates is seeking a Phlebotomist to support laboratory and point-of-care services at a VA primary care community outpatient clinic near Idabel, OK. You will help with safe specimen collection, clinic workflow, and patient-centered care for Veterans in McCurtain County.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen handling, PT/INR testing support, and collaboration with the Patient Aligned Care Team.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy competency demonstrated via training and certification.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection control, and specimen handling.
• Ability to complete VA and EGA background screening and onboarding.
• Current Basic Life Support certification or ability to obtain.
• Strong communication and teamwork in an outpatient setting.
• Experience with electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary collection following procedures and scope.
• Identify patients and explain specimen collection procedures.
• Label, handle, and route specimens maintaining integrity and timeframes.
• Perform finger-stick or venous collection for PT/INR testing and support POCT activities.
• Apply aseptic technique and protect patient privacy and safety.
• Maintain accurate documentation of collections and lab activities.
• Monitor supplies and equipment, report quality or safety concerns.
• Coordinate with care teams and telehealth services as assigned.
• Provide basic patient-care and clinic-flow support as trained.
