Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and specimen collection for laboratory procedures that support diagnosis and treatment of disease. You will collect, transport, and process specimens, ensuring timely delivery to the lab and accurate data entry for EMR.

The role includes quality assurance tasks and continuous monitoring of pending collections. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, or 2 years of related experience, with phlebotomist

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or 2 years of applicable work experience.
• Phlebotomist Certification will be considered in lieu of minimum qualifications.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred as part of Licenses and Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and skin puncture per SOP.
• Monitors collection list and documents status of outstanding collections.
• Ensures STAT specimens are delivered to the Lab within 15 minutes.
• Delivers specimens to the appropriate Lab Section upon receipt.
• Maintains documentation and participates in quality assurance.
• Monitors and clears not-received reports on a continuous basis.
