Job summary

Jobtailor in Worcester, MA is seeking a skilled phlebotomist to collect blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary methods, perform EKG and pulse oximetry, and support point-of-care testing across inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will review orders for Medical Necessity, prepare Advance Beneficiary Notices when needed, maintain quality control, and help with specimen processing and data registration.

Qualifications

• High School graduate
• Successful completion of a recognized phlebotomy training program or prior documented experience performing phlebotomy
• Basic life support certification required within 3 months of employment
• Maintenance of annual competencies in BLS
• May be required to work and travel to other locations and campuses per department needs
• Ability to work 32 hours per week, including four 8-hour evening shifts, every other holiday, and every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates expertise in phlebotomy techniques, including venipuncture and capillary collection, while ensuring compliance with Medical Necessity guidelines. Proficient in performing EKG, pulse oximetry, and point-of-care testing, with a commitment to quality control and patient data management.
