Job summary

Sora Resource Group in Asheville, NC seeks a contract Phlebotomist for a 3-month assignment. The role requires 2+ years of experience? The source states minimum 6 months venipuncture and adult/geriatric work.

Qualifications

Phlebotomy certification required for the state of employment.
At least 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
Demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
Understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimens.
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Check test requisitions against scripts to ensure accuracy.
Package specimens for transport and store samples correctly.
Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
Answer calls and relay laboratory results as needed.
