Job summary

Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, GA, seeks a Phlebotomist Tech I/Courier to perform venipuncture, specimen labeling, processing, and ensure patient identification.

You will follow safety policies, use hospital computer systems, and complete in-house training; a high school diploma and a valid driver's license required; ASCP certification encouraged after one year.

Laboratory Competency and Education Requirements

• Compliance with Laboratory Safety Policies & Procedures
• Demonstrates adequate knowledge of the hospital and laboratory computer systems
• Ability to read at a high school level
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Ability to effectively implement written and oral instructions
• Ability to appropriately encounter individuals (patients, visitors, coworkers, medical staff and others) in a variety of situations and circumstances
• Current Drivers License with no major citations, able to be covered under AMC auto insurance
• Encouraged to become certified by ASCP or a similar qualifying agency (qualification determined by the Administrative Director) after one year of experience at JDAMH

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current Driver's License
• Successful completion of in-house training
