Job description

Join to apply for the Phlebotomist Team Leader role at OneBlood

Provides leadership, instruction, and guidance to the collection staff during blood drives or at branches. Performs phlebotomy and collection procedures and processes related to the collection of blood and/or blood components from donors according to the organization’s policies and procedures, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, and American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) standards. If assigned to mobiles, responsible for driving the blood mobile.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Providing leadership and guidance to collection staff, including assigning meal/break periods.
  2. Ensuring staff adherence to policies and procedures.
  3. Obtaining medical history and vitals from donors.
  4. Performing blood collection procedures.
  5. Completing shift responsibilities, reviewing donor records for accuracy.
  6. Assisting in donor recruitment and supporting collection goals.
  7. Maintaining equipment and supplies.
  8. Monitoring deferrals and performance for training needs.
  9. Providing excellent customer service and communication.
  10. If assigned to mobiles, driving bloodmobile and other collection vehicles.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent with six months of related experience.
  • CDL and CPR certification if working on mobiles.
  • Skills in reading, writing, organizing, and communication.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to operate mobile vehicles.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, moving, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
