Job summary

Labcorp in Florida is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to lead a team of phlebotomists at Patient Service Centers and physician offices. The role includes overseeing operations and ensuring quality patient care.

You will manage scheduling, payroll, and performance reviews, collaborate with HR on employee relations, and recruit and train staff. Travel to additional sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • 5 years or more experience as a phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of 25+ phlebotomists in Patient Service Centers or physician offices.
  • Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs.
  • Monitor monthly productivity and report deviations.
  • Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules and staffing.
  • Perform payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals.
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions.
  • Hire and train phlebotomists to fill open positions.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, client office staff, sales, logistics and senior management.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and clients.
  • Assist in setup of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices.
  • Provide resolution of patient or client issues.
  • Perform, collect and prepare specimens; travel to additional sites as needed.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm, additional days and hours may be required

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of (+25) phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices
  • Manage patient flow, wait times, and inventory levels and information logs
  • Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
  • Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
  • Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
  • Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions
  • Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
  • Assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
  • Provide resolution of any patient or client issues
  • Perform, collect and prepare specimens when needed
  • Travel to additional sites as necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 5 years or more experience as a phlebotomist
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year or more as a supervisor or leader of direct reports
Additional Job Standards:
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Be at least 21 years' old
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
Benefits:
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
  • Phlebotomist's may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
